The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has taken decisive action by\nhalting the issuance of permits for the construction of new padel courts\nin residential areas. Furthermore, Governor Pramono Anung will order the\ndemolition of padel courts built without Building Approval Permits\n(PBG).<\/p>\n
\u201cThose without PBG will have their activities suspended, the courts\nwill be demolished, and their business licenses revoked,\u201d Pramono said\nafter chairing a limited meeting at Jakarta City Hall, as quoted by\ndetikNews on Tuesday (24 February 2026).<\/p>\n
Padel courts will only be permitted in commercial areas with strict\nregulations and must obtain initial technical approval from the Youth\nand Sports Department to prevent further construction without thorough\nassessment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been decided that new permits for the construction of padel\ncourts will not be allowed in residential zones. All new courts must be\nlocated in commercial zones,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Many residents in Jakarta have lodged complaints regarding the\noperation of padel courts, citing noise, operating hours that extend\nfrom morning to late at night, and parking issues.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Pramono will limit the operating hours of padel courts to\n8:00 PM. Each padel court must also be equipped with soundproofing.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven if they have a PBG, if they are located in a residential area,\nthe maximum operating time is 8:00 PM,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Pramono has requested that padel court operators provide\nadequate parking facilities to avoid disrupting the activities of local\nresidents.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost padel players arrive in their own cars. Due to the lack of\nadequate parking space, they often park on residential streets, causing\ninconvenience to residents. We will address this issue,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n
In contrast to Jakarta, Tangerang Regency has a \u2018Padel Village\u2019 which\nhas become a source of income for residents. Traders claim to be\nbenefiting from the increased activity and liveliness.<\/p>\n
One of the traders, Nurjaman, said that he is not bothered by the\nactivity at the padel courts. He has observed that many local residents\nhave found new jobs thanks to the increasing number of padel courts.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere, it doesn\u2019t seem to be a problem. In fact, the residents seem\nto support it. Because people here can find work, whereas before they\nwere unemployed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The location of \u2018Padel Village\u2019 is in Pagerhaur and Rancalele\nvillages, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency, Banten. According to detikcom\u2019s\nobservation on Tuesday (24 February 2026), there are about seven padel\ncourts in the two villages along Jalan Raya Pagedangan.<\/p>\n
The padel courts are located near residential areas, with some even\nadjacent to residents\u2019 houses.<\/p>\n
