        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 A high workload combined with long duty hours is said to\npose a serious challenge for personnel of the Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja\n(Satpol PP) in DKI Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>In the past nearly one year, 35 members have been reported dead. This\nsituation is linked to the heavy burden of field duties and limited\nsupport facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Satpol PP DKI Jakarta, Satriadi Gunawan, stated that the high\nworkload with long overtime durations makes officers vulnerable to\nhealth problems.<\/p>\n<p>Satriadi emphasised that the high number is not caused by leadership\nfactors, but rather the heavy workload and extraordinary limitations in\nfield facilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been the head of Satpol PP for almost a year. So, almost 35\nof my members have passed away. Not because of the head, sir, but\nbecause of the conditions: the workload and the infrastructure out there\nare extraordinary,\u201d said Satriadi during a meeting with Commission A of\nthe DKI DPRD at the DKI DPRD Building, Thursday (23\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>These limitations result in an uneven distribution of work relative\nto operational needs in the field.<\/p>\n<p>The low number of personnel directly impacts the length of members\u2019\nworking hours. In certain conditions, officers must work for extremely\nlong durations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe workload is not proportionate to the number of personnel. There\nare members who work up to 36 hours,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, many Satpol PP members are forced to rest in prayer rooms\nor the corridors of sub-district offices because adequate rest areas are\nnot yet available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the moment, they are still using the prayer room, sometimes the\ncorridors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The heavy working conditions are said to impact personnel health.\nBased on health examination results, many members suffer from high blood\npressure due to fatigue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can they work well the next day to carry out enforcement? Their\nblood pressure is all high. That\u2019s why we did a check-up yesterday; the\nmedical check-up showed extraordinarily high blood pressure,\u201d Satriadi\nrevealed.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, such support is important so that members can work\noptimally without neglecting their health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope for support for facilities, especially rest areas, so that\nmembers can maintain their health and work more optimally,\u201d said\nSatriadi.<\/p>",
