        "content": "<p>Overseas trip prohibited<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: Governor Raja Inal Siregar has<br>\nprohibited regents and mayors from traveling overseas until after<br>\nthe upcoming meetings of People's Consultative Assembly in<br>\nJakarta scheduled for March 1 to March 11.<\/p>\n<p>Siregar said yesterday the officials should focus on security<br>\nin their respective areas during that period, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Assembly's meetings' top agenda is to elect a new<br>\npresident and vice president and to adopt the 1998-2003 State<br>\nPolicy Guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Siregar met with all regents and mayors to discuss stability<br>\nin the province because the worsening economic crisis has<br>\naugmented potential unrest.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial government's spokesman, Amri Tambunan, said the<br>\ngovernor ordered the officials to step up information campaigns<br>\naimed at calming people facing the crisis.
