        "content": "<p>Overseas OJT registration opens<\/p>\n<p>At least 30 workers from companies operating in the city will<br>\nbe sent to Japan early next year to take part in an on the job<br>\ntraining (OJT) program jointly sponsored by the Jakarta and Tokyo<br>\nMetropolitan City administrations, the City Manpower Office<br>\nannounced yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Suhatman, the head of the office, said the registration for<br>\nthe 15-month long on the job training program opens from June 6<br>\nthrough July 15.<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should register at City Manpower Office<br>\non Jl. Cikini Raya No. 75, Central Jakarta, during working hours<br>\nand produce photocopies of their IDs, letters of recommendation<br>\nfrom their companies and high school diplomas.<\/p>\n<p>Suhatman said all applicants have to be residents of Jakarta,<br>\nbe between 25 and 29 years of age, have a minimum of two years of<br>\nwork experience and must pass selection tests.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This is the sixth OJT program,&quot; Suhatman said, adding that<br>\nthe 30 participants who passed the tests would be expected to<br>\nleave the city for Tokyo in January.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta has sent more than 100 workers to Japan to take part<br>\nin an on-the-job training program since the signing of the sister<br>\ncity agreement between Jakarta and Tokyo on Oct. 23, 1989.<\/p>\n<p>During their 15 month stay in Japan, the participants will be<br>\nplaced in several companies according to vocational training they<br>\nwill receive, such as electrical installation, printing work and<br>\ncar repair.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;In addition, the participants will have to take three months<br>\ncourse in Japanese language and culture in Jakarta before they<br>\nleave,&quot; said Suhatman.
