        "content": "<p>Overhaul education curriculum: VP<\/p>\n<p>BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: Vice President Hamzah Haz says the<br>\nnational education curriculum must be overhauled in order to meet<br>\nthe country's development needs.<\/p>\n<p>Hamzah said the existing education curriculum did not meet the<br>\ncountry's needs as it did not prepare students to explore and<br>\nexploit available natural resources.<\/p>\n<p>\"The country's education curriculum must be overhauled<br>\nthoroughly,\" the vice president said when opening the science<br>\ngathering of Indonesian Mathematics and Science Students in<br>\nLampung on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the national education curriculum should be able to<br>\ngive economic value and added value to natural resources \"so that<br>\nIndonesia does not have to depend too much on foreign experts in<br>\nexploiting its natural resources.\"<\/p>\n<p>\"We have abundant natural resources but are unable to exploit<br>\nthem,\" Hamzah said. -- Antara<\/p>",
