        "content": "<p>Residents of Malang City performed Eid al-Fitr prayers today. The Eid\nprayer congregation overflowed, utilising the courtyard of the Sacred\nHeart of Jesus Church in Malang.<\/p>\n<p>According to Antara, Saturday (21\/3\/2026), the locations for Eid\nprayer worship in Malang City were spread evenly, from streets in\nresidential areas to protocol routes.<\/p>\n<p>The larger-scale Eid prayer worship was evident in the area of the\nGrand Jami\u2019 Mosque in Malang.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of residents filled the area since around 05:00 WIB. Due to\nlimited capacity in the Grand Jami\u2019 Mosque area, the community performed\nprayers on several surrounding streets, such as Jalan MGR Sugiyopranoto,\nJalan Basuki Rahmat or the Kayutangan Heritage area, and Jalan Alun-alun\nMerdeka Utara.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically on Jalan MGR Sugiyopranoto, the Eid prayer had to use\nthe courtyard of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. The arrival of the\ncongregation received a warm welcome from the church officials.<\/p>\n<p>The Eid prayer at the Grand Jami\u2019 Mosque in Malang concluded around\n07:00 WIB. After the worship, the community shook hands, and some were\nheard offering apologies.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat stated that the Eid al-Fitr\nmoment brings a new spirit to continue building Malang City\u2019s progress\ntogether.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly, the Eid al-Fitr momentum can be used as a means to\nstrengthen togetherness and tighten silaturahim to foster a new spirit\nin building Malang City,\u201d said Wahyu in his welcoming speech at the Eid\nprayer in the Grand Jami\u2019 Mosque.<\/p>\n<p>Wahyu conveyed that strong silaturahmi ties between the community and\nthe government form the foundation for realising regional progress.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that the Malang City Government (Pemkot) will always\nstrive to encourage community involvement in creating governance fully\noriented towards improving human resources, economic growth, and public\nwelfare.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that the government always opens itself to every resident\nwho wishes to participate and contribute to efforts to advance all\naspects of life broadly.<\/p>",
