        "content": "<p>Many people view retirement as the end of one\u2019s productive journey.\nIn reality, retirement can be the start of a new chapter, full of\nopportunities, creativity, and contributions to society. This spirit was\nat the forefront of a seminar titled \u2018Happy Retirement: Healthy,\nProsperous, Productive, and Meaningful\u2019, held at GKP Ebenhaezer Cawang\non 30 May 2026. The event, involving lecturers and students from\nUniversitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI), presented various perspectives on\nhow to live an active and independent retirement. One key issue\nhighlighted was the importance of productivity in old age. Many retirees\nstill possess skills, experience, and networks that can be utilised to\nbuild businesses aligned with their hobbies and capacities. Productive\nactivity not only provides additional income but also helps maintain\nmental health, boosts self-confidence, and expands social interaction.\nThe positive response from participants indicated a high interest in\ncontinuing to work after retirement. During the discussion session, many\nquestions arose regarding suitable business opportunities for the\nelderly, strategies for starting a business with limited capital, and\nfinancial management. Interestingly, participants were inspired directly\nby students who had successfully pioneered and developed businesses\nwhile still at university, with some attendees even expressing interest\nin collaborating with these ventures. This demonstrates that business\nsuccess is not determined by age, but by a willingness to learn,\nperseverance, and the courage to face challenges. Beyond the economic\naspect, the seminar also stressed the importance of maintaining physical\nand mental health as the foundation for productivity in later life. The\nelderly were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles, undergo regular\nhealth check-ups, and maintain psychological balance when adapting to\nrole changes after retirement. Through this activity, UKI and GKP\nEbenhaezer demonstrated that empowering the elderly is not solely about\nsocial welfare, but also about strengthening individual capacity to\nremain independent and productive. Retirement is not a time to stop\nworking, but an opportunity to find new meaning in life, share\nexperiences, and continue contributing to family and community.<\/p>",
