More than one thousand basic commodity packages with subsidies were\ndistributed to residents of Cimahi City. This programme aims to maintain\nprice stability whilst helping residents meet their basic needs ahead of\nEid.<\/p>\n
Each package contains 3 kilogrammes of rice, 1 litre of cooking oil,\n1 kilogramme of sugar, and 1 kilogramme of wheat flour. The total value\nof each package reaches IDR96,700. However, thanks to government\nsubsidies totalling IDR56,700, residents only need to purchase them at\nIDR40,000 per package.<\/p>\n
Iyun Sapta Mulyana, Head of the Trade, Cooperative, SME and Industry\nOffice of Cimahi City, stated that this market operation represents the\ngovernment\u2019s tangible presence among the community, particularly ahead\nof religious holidays when basic commodity prices tend to increase.<\/p>\n
\u201cAhead of religious holidays, basic commodity prices usually rise.\nThis market operation programme is the government\u2019s effort to assist the\ncommunity whilst maintaining the stability of supply and prices of basic\ncommodities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
From a total of 1,086 packages provided, 543 packages were\ndistributed in Melong Kelurahan and the remainder in Utama Kelurahan.\nThe distribution process was carried out through data collection of\nresidents at the kelurahan and RW levels to ensure the distribution was\norderly and well-targeted.<\/p>\n
\u201cData collection through kelurahans and RWs makes the distribution of\nassistance more orderly, well-targeted, and does not cause crowds of\nresidents,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
He reminded the community to use the subsidised packages wisely for\nhousehold needs and not to resell them at unreasonable prices.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis assistance is intended to ease the burden on the community. Use\nit as best as possible so that its benefits are truly felt by families\nin need,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Nining Yuliastiani, Head of the Industry and Trade Office\nof West Java Province, explained that the subsidised market operation is\npart of the regional inflation control programme being implemented\nsimultaneously across 27 regencies and cities in West Java.<\/p>\n
Overall, the West Java Provincial Government distributed 94,391 basic\ncommodity packages in the Subsidised Market Operation (Opadi) programme\ndistributed on 10-14 March 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough this operation, we hope the stability of basic commodity\nprices is maintained so that the purchasing power of the community is\nnot disrupted ahead of Eid al-Fitr,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
She added that the programme targets communities most affected by\nincreases in basic commodity prices, particularly households in the\nsecond and third income deciles.<\/p>\n
