Viral on social media are allegations of sexual violence involving\none lecturer at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta. The campus says it will\ninvestigate the allegation.<\/p>\n
The incident went viral after being posted on the social media\nplatform X. The post by the account @onlonenyside<\/span> states that the alleged\nperpetrator is a lecturer in the Agrotechnology Study Programme, Faculty\nof Agriculture.<\/p>\n In the thread, the alleged perpetrator\u2019s modus operandi include\ninviting someone to meals or to watch something, asking for help with\nproofreading, asking to accompany them to a community service location,\nand providing job vacancy information as well as offering to drop\nsomeone to work. The case is said to have existed since 2022.<\/p>\n In response, the campus through the Violence Prevention and Handling\nTask Force (PPK) issued a response. The head of the PPK UPNVY Dr.\u00a0Iva\nRachmawati, S.IP., M.Si in a written statement expressed deep concern\nover information circulating on social media regarding alleged sexual\nviolence within the UPN \u201cVeteran\u201d Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n \u2018We understand that this situation can generate a sense of\ninsecurity, worry, and psychological impact for victims as well as the\nacademic community,\u2019 Iva said in the written statement received by\ndetikJogja on Tuesday (19\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n \u2018We also understand that not all victims have the psychological,\nsocial, or academic readiness to immediately lodge an official report,\u2019\nshe continued.<\/p>\n She noted that fear of stigma, power relations, peer pressure,\nenvironmental pressures, and concerns about academic impact often hinder\nthe reporting process.<\/p>\n In light of this situation, the PPK continues to conduct tracing and\ninvestigation in an objective, professional manner, underpinned by the\nprinciple of protecting victims.<\/p>\n \u2018Any information and evidence received will be followed up carefully\nin accordance with the applicable mechanisms,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n \u2018UPN \u201cVeteran\u201d Yogyakarta does not tolerate any form of violence. The\ncampus is committed to creating a safe, inclusive educational\nenvironment and free from all forms of violence or abuse of power\nrelations,\u2019 she asserted.<\/p>\n The PPK also prioritises protection for victims by providing safe\nspaces, support services, and reporting mechanisms that guarantee\nconfidentiality and safety for both the victim and the reporter.<\/p>\n She urged all parties who have experienced, witnessed or have\ninformation related to alleged acts of violence to report via the\nofficial channel of the PPK at the number 0812 2557 3747 or email\nsatgas.ppks@upnvyk.ac.id.<\/p>\n \u2018Every report, no matter how small, matters in helping protect\nvictims, strengthening the handling process, and preventing similar\nincidents from recurring.
