        "content": "<p>Our commitment to reform<\/p>\n<p>As we see, the calls for reform within the Indonesian Military<br>\n(TNI) and elsewhere have caused varying reactions. But in a<br>\nclimate that is loaded with different emotions, prejudices and<br>\nantagonism, those differences, too, are often colored by emotion.<\/p>\n<p>We should be reminded that such demands for democratic change,<br>\nfor a restoration of the supremacy of the law, for the respect of<br>\nhuman rights as well as for social, political and economic<br>\njustice are aimed not at TNI alone. All other institutions are<br>\nfacing the same demands.<\/p>\n<p>A full awareness that such a process of reform is currently<br>\naffecting our central and strategic state institutions could give<br>\nus a better insight and sow tolerance, not only among those<br>\ninstitutions concerned, but among all the members of our society.<\/p>\n<p>Such an understanding, plus an appropriate attitude toward<br>\nthis process on the part of all of us, is essential because this<br>\npresent reform drive needs to be maintained.
