Our attorney general<\/p>\n
Who is the most famous person in this country? None other than
\nMr. Attorney General. Let us think of a case that made our
\nattorney general special: The scanned phone conversation
\npurportedly between President B.J. Habibie and Andi Ghalib. The
\ncase was considered settled before a thorough investigation into
\nthe matter was conducted. This very same attorney general was
\npresented with a chicken.<\/p>\n
Now another controversy about him has surfaced. The Indonesian
\nCorruption Watch (ICW) has found money transferred to our
\nAttorney General's private accounts and huge savings reaching Rp
\n13 billion. We do not know whether the issue is true or not, but
\nthe case makes us ashamed as citizens of this country.<\/p>\n
Then came the issue of the banning of three journalists from
\ncovering the activities at the Attorney General's Office, which
\nis not in line with the policy of the information minister that
\nthe flow of information to the public will not be hindered.<\/p>\n
All these controversies happened during only one year in the
\noffice.<\/p>\n
I think it is important for the attorney general to clarify
\nthe allegations and prove that he is really a clean official,
\ninstead of spouting talk which makes people even more confused.<\/p>\n
