Adam\u2019s father died two years\nago, and his mother passed away on 15 May 2026 at Hospital Kuala Lumpur\nfrom disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis.<\/p>\n<p>Following a report of Megawati\u2019s illness, the NTB Manpower and\nTransmigration Office coordinated with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala\nLumpur. After the mother\u2019s death, Adam was left in the care of a fellow\nundocumented Indonesian migrant worker named Sumiati. Once bureaucratic\nprocesses, family verification, and emergency travel documents were\ncompleted, Adam was flown home on Saturday, 13 June 2026, via Batik Air\nMalaysia flight OD 366. He was accompanied during the flight by the Head\nof the NTB Manpower and Transmigration Office, Pradiptha Himawan\nPutra.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Iqbal described the case as a harsh lesson, emphasising that\nthe provincial government\u2019s responsibility does not end with the child\u2019s\nreturn. The Head of the NTB Manpower and Transmigration Office, Aidy\nFurqan, explained that the repatriation costs were covered by the\nIndonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, while the NTB provincial government\nfacilitated the child\u2019s return to his family in Lombok. Adam is\ncurrently staying with his grandmother and relatives in the Pejeruk\nsub-district. The government plans to monitor his situation closely over\nthe coming weeks and is coordinating with the Social Affairs Office to\nsecure his future, with a focus on ensuring he can continue his\neducation, possibly through a state-run school programme or placement in\nan orphanage if the family agrees.<\/p>",
