News of the missing plants spread on social media after being\nuploaded by the Instagram account @merapi_uncover<\/span>. The post included a\nphoto of a partially barren park median.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease approve, admin\u2026 I am a park officer wanting to report that on\nthe Maguwoharjo Stadium road, the new park\u2019s plants are often stolen by\nirresponsible people. This is not the first or second time,\u201d read the\ncaption on the post, seen by detikJogja on Wednesday (24\/6).<\/p>\n Asked for confirmation, the Head of the Sleman Environmental Agency,\nJunaidi, confirmed the incident. According to him, the stolen plants\nwere varieties such as Yellow Broccoli and Taiwan Beauty.<\/p>\n \u201cThose are quite popular. They often go missing everywhere, but\nindeed, it\u2019s simply because they are attractive,\u201d Junaidi explained when\ncontacted today.<\/p>\n \u201cThe price is actually normal, whether it\u2019s considered expensive or\nnot depends. But it is slightly more expensive compared to others,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n Junaidi admitted that his agency is having difficulty finding the\nperpetrators. Therefore, he is thinking of ways to prevent similar\nincidents from recurring. One solution is to replace them with more\neconomical ornamental plants.<\/p>\n \u201cFinding who stole them is rather difficult, but what the DLH will do\nis continue to replace the lost plants,\u201d Junaidi explained.<\/p>\n \u201cSince the ones being stolen are certainly the attractive ones,\nperhaps we will replace them with plants that are considered\nunattractive so they won\u2019t be stolen again,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Furthermore, Junaidi said his party will also coordinate with other\nRegional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) to prevent the incident from\nhappening again. This includes coordinating with the Communication and\nInformation Agency regarding the possibility of installing CCTV in the\narea.<\/p>\n \u201cWe coordinate across OPDs to further reduce the potential for\ncontinuous theft, for instance, by having patrols visit the area. This\nincludes coordination with the Kapanewon (district) and Kalurahan\n(village),\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n \u201cActually, it\u2019s not just in that location.
