The CEO of PT Sucor Sekuritas, Bernadus Wijaya, expresses optimism that the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) will surpass the 7,000 mark by the end of 2026. He highlights the upcoming MSCI rebalancing and potential positive sentiment from financial market reforms as key drivers for this growth.

The CEO of PT Sucor Sekuritas, Bernadus Wijaya, remains optimistic
that the IHSG can penetrate the 7,000 area by the end of 2026. He
attributes this primarily to the MSCI rebalancing scheduled for this
coming November.

“We are very optimistic that Indonesia will remain in the MSCI market
and will begin to see the unfreezing of its constituents within the
IHSG. Although there are no new constituents yet, it will increase the
waiting period. This will certainly add stimulus or a positive statement
for the IHScal from November until the end of 2026,” he revealed during
the Road to CNBC Awards 2026 ‘Best Securities and Fund Management’ on
Wednesday (30/09/2026).

Furthermore, Bernadus added that various reforms in the financial
market are also expected to add positive sentiment, alongside the
transition of the Governor of Bank Indonesia and the Minister of
Finance.

Sectorally, Bernadus noted that the banking sector could be a
preferred choice due to relatively cheap valuations, particularly for
BBRI and BMRI stocks.

“So, of course, when Indonesia is unfrozen, the potential for foreign
investment to first target Indonesia will naturally be in the banking
sector. At current prices, the yield in the banking sector, with its
payout ratio similar to last year, has reached more than 10%. It is
around 12-13% for BBRI and BMRI,” he explained.

Currently, liquidity in the Indonesian stock market is quite shallow,
which has impacted the securities industry. Therefore, Bernadus believes
the solution lies in continuous education, including targeting
Generation Z and Millennials.

He believes this can increase literacy and inclusion within the
securities sector. Additionally, Sucor is utilising social media and
lifestyle-based approaches, including engaging with communities such as
padel, pickleball, and golf, as well as various cross-professional
groups. Looking ahead, Bernadus hopes for greater political and economic
stability in Indonesia to allow the capital market to move more
organically.

“Of course, this can become even better in the future. Thus, the
acquisition activities we are undertaking can bear fruit, not only for
the company but also for Sucor Sekuritas clients and general stock
investors in 2027,” he concluded.
",
