The firefight\noccurred during a search operation after two TNI Navy (AL) soldiers were\nkilled in Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua. Citing detikSulsel on\nThursday (26\/3\/2026), Alfons was the Deputy Commander of Operations for\nthe Buaya Battalion-Kodap IV Sorong Raya. The shootout between Alfons\nand the security forces took place in Sori Village, South Aifat\nDistrict, Maybrat, on Sunday (22\/3). \u201cAccording to the information\nstated by them (OPM), it is indeed true. The information we received\nfrom below is as such (Sergeant Alfons Sorri was killed),\u201d said the Head\nof Information for the XVIII\/Kasuari Military Region, Lieutenant Colonel\nInfantry J Daniel P Manalu. However, Daniel dismissed rumours that\nAlfons\u2019s body is being held by TNI personnel.
