        "content": "<p>OPM hostages<\/p>\n<p>From Tiras<\/p>\n<p>The fate of the hostages, who have been held by separatists<br>\nfor over eight weeks in Irian Jaya, is still unknown. Although<br>\nmedia reports say they are in good shape, no one can be sure of<br>\ntheir true physical condition.<\/p>\n<p>The separatists movement has a three-fold demand: the<br>\nrecognition of a free Papua; the termination of military<br>\nactivities and transmigration to Irian Jaya; and the termination<br>\nof PT Freeport mining activities.<\/p>\n<p>So far the military has made an effort to free the hostages<br>\nthrough persuasive means, but to no avail.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder why the leader of the captors, Kelly Kwalik, is<br>\nreluctant to free the hostages. I hope the government becomes<br>\nmore consistent in making decisions.
