It is a<br>\nforeign company and it abides by the democratic way of doing<br>\nbusiness in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to call on everyone of us to engage in healthy<br>\ncompetition. I don't believe in the perception that competition<br>\nkills weaker entrepreneurs. On the contrary, competition should<br>\nencourage the weak to learn from experience and how to survive.<\/p>\n<p>President Soeharto in his New Year's address stated that<br>\nopenness should not only be applied in politics but in the<br>\neconomy. This implies that everybody is supposed to have the same<br>\neconomic opportunities and access to information.<\/p>\n<p>We should also uphold a code of ethics. When business ethics<br>\nprevail, practices of collusion are minimized.<\/p>\n<p>Do open tenders in Indonesia reflect openness in the economy?<br>\nDo companies here which have gone public conduct open tenders in<br>\nthe media?
