The Chairman of the West Java PDI Perjuangan Regional Leadership\nCouncil (DPD), Ono Surono, has instructed all party cadres serving in\nregency and city legislatures across West Java to undertake a\nrestructuring of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).\nThis step is deemed essential in response to the economic challenges\ncurrently facing the community.<\/p>\n
Ono delivered this instruction during a party consolidation meeting\nin Bekasi City on Wednesday (3\/6\/2026). According to him, national\neconomic instability, the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate, and the\nthreat of inflation must be addressed through budgetary policies that\nare more aligned with the needs of the people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe evaluation of the APBD must begin within the DPRD (Regional\nHouse of Representatives). Programmes that do not have a direct impact\non public services need to be reviewed, including working visits,\ncomparative studies, and similar activities,\u201d said Ono.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD emphasised that regional\nexpenditure efficiency must be a priority so that local government\nfiscal space can be more focused on programmes that touch upon the needs\nof the community.<\/p>\n
He also requested that PDI Perjuangan legislators limit agendas\noutside their regions and increase activities within their respective\nconstituencies. According to Ono, the presence of council members\namongst the community is a vital part of understanding the issues faced\nby citizens directly.<\/p>\n
In addition to promoting budget efficiency, the West Java PDI\nPerjuangan DPD is preparing several strategic agendas. These include\nstrengthening food security through the planting of ten food commodities\nalongside rice, the development of urban farming, and the implementation\nof a series of activities for \u2018Bung Karno Month\u2019 throughout June.<\/p>\n
Ono believes that family-based food security movements can serve as a\nsolution to facing fluctuations in basic commodity prices. Addressing\nthe price of chilli, which has reached Rp70,000 per kilogram, he invited\nthe public to utilise yard space to plant chillies, tomatoes, and\nvarious types of vegetables.<\/p>\n
\u201cSimple steps such as growing our own food needs can help reduce\nfamily expenditure burdens while simultaneously strengthening household\nfood security,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding internal party matters, PDI Perjuangan West Java aims to\ncomplete its organisational structure\u2014from the PAC, branch, to\nsub-branch levels\u2014within this month. This consolidation is being carried\nout to strengthen synergy between party officials, legislative factions,\nand regional heads belonging to PDI Perjuangan.<\/p>\n
According to Ono, the collaboration of these three elements is\nessential capital in responding to the various social and economic\nissues faced by the community.<\/p>\n
