        "content": "<p>Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has emphasised that the\ngovernment will close all open dumping practices in Indonesia. To date,\nthe Ministry of Environment has closed only 30% of the total 485 Final\nProcessing Sites (TPA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe remaining approximately 69%, or nearly 70%, around 369 TPAs\nacross the country, including TPA Suwung,\u201d Hanif stated during his visit\nto the Final Processing Site (TPA) Suwung and the Integrated Waste\nProcessing Site (TPST) Tahura Ngurah Rai I, Denpasar, Bali, on Friday\n(17\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Hanif mentioned the 63.41% waste management target as stipulated in\nthe latest National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), regulated\nunder Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 12 of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat figure can only be achieved if we close all open dumping\npractices in the country,\u201d Hanif said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to ending open dumping practices, Hanif added that\nimproving waste quality through sorting must be carried out concurrently\nacross Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that the policy is implemented without exception,\nincluding for regions with fiscal limitations.
