        "content": "<p>One of the rules under the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and\nMedium Enterprises (UMKM) Regulation on Protection to Improve\nCompetitiveness concerns incentives from ecommerce platforms to small\nand micro sellers. Sellers stand to receive a 50% discount on service\nfees if they meet certain criteria. One criterion is inclusion in the\nSAPA UMKM system. The regulation also prioritises local products and\nwill be integrated with the marketplace system.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018That is another one, and it prioritises local products,\u2019 said Maman\nAbdurrahman, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises\n(UMKM), at the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation on Thursday\n(21 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>The regulation provides a 50% discount on service charges. The\ndiscount applies only to micro and small enterprises. \u2018It is a form of\nprotection for micro and small businesses because they need to be\nprotected,\u2019 Maman said.<\/p>\n<p>Another point addresses that marketplaces should not raise service\ncharges arbitrarily. For this point, the seller and marketplace must\nsign a contract, and there should be no price increase for a year. Fee\nincreases or revisions are still allowed, but must be announced three\nmonths in advance, giving sellers time to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>With that, the rules are designed to be fair. \u2018In the regulation we\nare required to give three months\u2019 notice.
