        "content": "<p>The General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dittipidum) of the\nIndonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has revealed that an online\ngambling syndicate operating in the Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower, West\nJakarta, utilised overseas servers. This tactic was allegedly employed\nto evade blocking measures implemented by the Indonesian government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe discovered 145 websites, domains, or gambling sites managed by\nthe suspects on a rotational basis. The reason for this rotation is to\navoid being blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Digital\nAffairs,\u201d stated Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, Director of\nGeneral Criminal Investigation at Bareskrim Polri, during a press\nconference in South Jakarta on Friday (26\/06\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Based on digital forensic analysis, Wira noted that the IP addresses\nand hosting for these hundreds of sites are spread across several\ncountries, ranging from Brazil to Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInformation obtained shows that the IP addresses, server addresses,\nand hosting are located abroad, including in Brazil, the Philippines,\nChina, and Vietnam,\u201d Wira said.<\/p>\n<p>Wira mentioned that the online gambling syndicate attempted to move\nits operations to Indonesia from other countries. Before establishing\nthemselves in Jakarta, the network was known to have operated in\nCambodia, Malaysia, and Myanmar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that massive enforcement actions have been taken in several of\nthose countries, the online gambling network attempted to relocate its\noperational activities to Indonesia,\u201d Wira explained.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 287 foreign nationals (WNA) have been named as suspects.\nThe breakdown of foreign suspects is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><p>Vietnam: 185 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>China: 76 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Myanmar: 15 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Thailand: 6 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Laos: 3 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Malaysia: 2 individuals<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The suspects held various roles, ranging from customer service\nofficers, programmers\/IT specialists, and marketing admins to financial\nadmins and operational support. In addition to the foreign nationals,\npolice also arrested four Indonesian citizens (WNI) identified by the\ninitials MAP, BT, DFA, and DA.<\/p>\n<p>The four Indonesians played roles in supporting the syndicate\u2019s\noperations, including acting as financial admins, managing building\nrentals, preparing nominee accounts, and assisting with the residence\npermits of the foreign nationals. Police are still pursuing the leaders\nof the syndicate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can more certainly confirm that this is a syndicate controlled\nfrom abroad. Based on digital forensic data, they have been operating in\nIndonesia for approximately two months prior to the arrests,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>",
