        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 President Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude that\nIndonesia now possesses an investment management body comparable to\nsovereign wealth funds globally, describing Danantara as among the\nworld\u2019s sixth-largest sovereign wealth funds.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo made these remarks while delivering remarks at Danantara\nIndonesia\u2019s first anniversary celebration in central Jakarta on\nWednesday, 11 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful that we now have an institution that can be compared\nwith sovereign wealth funds in the world. We are grateful that Indonesia\nnow has a sovereign wealth fund that is possibly the sixth or seventh\nlargest in the world,\u201d Prabowo said on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that the management of the fund\u2019s assets is proceeding\nwith correct political will and proper governance. \u201cWith good\nmanagement, especially with the right will and political determination,\nwith the right spirit, results are already visible,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo reported that Danantara\u2019s Return on Assets (RoA) has\nincreased 300 per cent over the past year. However, he acknowledged that\nthe current RoA of just 5 per cent falls significantly short of targets.\nA well-performing company typically achieves an RoA of 10 per cent, with\nexcellent performers reaching 12-15 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it\u2019s good, it\u2019s 12 per cent; when it\u2019s excellent, 15 per cent.\nWe should have a good target of 10 per cent. But we understand that this\nmay not be achievable in the initial years,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n<p>He also acknowledged Danantara\u2019s weighty responsibility. The body has\nbeen entrusted with managing the nation\u2019s wealth and consolidating all\nstate-owned assets. This significant role aligns with the meaning of its\nname: \u201cDaya\u201d signifies strength or energy, whilst \u201cAnagata\u201d means the\nfuture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDanantara must protect and manage the strength and energy of our\nnation for the future.
