One-sided political talk show<\/p>\n

My friend and I, now experiencing a political euphoria, are
\ndisappointed every time we watch the program Detak Detik Pemilu,
\nbroadcast simultaneously by all private TV stations. The talk
\nshow is hosted by Wimar Witoelar.<\/p>\n
1. The program is not neutral. It has become a platform to
\nforce one's own will by supporting a certain political party so
\nits chairperson will become president.<\/p>\n
2. The participants are all in favor of a certain political
\nparty, except for Adnan Buyung Nasution.<\/p>\n
3. Phone-ins attacking that party are ignored or cut off by
\nWimar so the participants are not given the opportunity to reply
\nto questions by viewers. The organizers do not take into account
\nthe great difficulty getting a telephone connection. Strangely,
\nthe people whose calls go through are those in favor of the
\nparty. I suspect that the program may be engineered to support
\nthe party.<\/p>\n
4. The PPI (Indonesian Elections Committee) representative is
\nalways Jacob Tobing, who is a functionary of the party favored by
\nthe program. There are actually others, like Hasballah M. Saad
\nand Djuhad Mahya, the PPI deputy chairman. It is unfair. The
\nGeneral Elections Commission is represented by a variety of
\npeople.<\/p>\n
Based on the above reasons I appeal to the government,
\nespecially the PPI, the Information Ministry and related agencies
\nto stop the program that keeps people ignorant and imposes its
\nwill on them.<\/p>\n
