One killed in villagers' fray<\/p>\n
DENPASAR, Bali: A 50-year-old man was killed and several
\nothers were seriously injured in a violent clash in Buleleng
\nregency, some 100 kilometers north of here on Monday.<\/p>\n
Buleleng Police chief Supt. Abdul Rahman said I Ketut
\nSumenaka, a resident of Patemon village, died of severe slash
\nwounds. Another Patemon resident, Bagor, 23, was injured.<\/p>\n
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital soon after the
\npolice arrived.<\/p>\n
Bali Police spokesperson Ass. Supt. Andi Arwita said the clash
\nbetween the residents of Patemon and Kalopaksa villages started
\nafter two unidentified men attacked a minibus driver, I Made
\nDarmandi, a Patemon villager, on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\"The assailants were believed to be residents of Kalopaksa,\"
\nshe said.<\/p>\n
On Monday morning, dozens of Patemon villagers, armed with
\nswords and sticks, stormed the Seririt market and destroyed shops
\nbelonging to Kalopaksa residents, she said.<\/p>\n
\"They then marched to the Kalopaksa village and were
\nconfronted by scores of its residents. The clash between the
\nPatemaon and Kalopaksa villagers was stopped by police officers,\"
