One bus accident victim remains unidentified<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): All but one of the 31 people killed in the
\nKramatdjati bus accident have been identified and claimed by
\ntheir families.<\/p>\n
Dr. Her Kuntanto, head of the forensics department at Bogor's
\nRed Cross Hospital, told The Jakarta Post yesterday that the
\nforensics team would need two or three days to determine the age
\nand identity of the remaining victim.<\/p>\n
"We must be extra careful. We want everything to be done
\naccurately in the forensic examination," Kuntanto said, refusing
\nto reveal if the victim was male or female.<\/p>\n
Another hospital source said, however, that the victim was a
\nwoman.<\/p>\n
Kuntanto said that the hospital is cooperating with a medical
\nteam from the University of Indonesia in its forensic
\nexaminations.<\/p>\n
Thirty-one people were killed on Saturday when a speeding
\nKramatdjati bus heading from Jakarta to Bandung hit a jeep
\nstopped on the left shoulder of the Jagorawi toll road. The bus
\nburst into flames, killing 29 passengers who were unable to
\nescape from the bus.<\/p>\n
Two women in the jeep, a policewoman and the wife of another
\npolice officer, were also killed upon impact.<\/p>\n
The bus driver, Agus Effendi, was apprehended later the same
\nday with two barbiturate pills found in his pocket. He has
\nadmitted to having taken barbiturates before driving but claims
\nto have been in good condition while driving.<\/p>\n
The Kompas morning daily reported yesterday that the Sihotang
\nfamily of Pondok Cina, Depok, has visited the hospital in search
\nof information about one of its family members, Ani Sihotang. The
\nfamily is still waiting for the results of the forensic
