One arrested, two queried over Green Garden killing<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 27-year-old man has been arrested by West
\nJakarta police for allegedly killing a man believed to be a
\nforeigner at the Green Garden housing complex in the Kedoya Utara
\nsubdistrict of Kebon Jeruk.<\/p>\n
The suspect, identified only as Acung, was arrested by
\ndetectives a few hours after police were informed about the
\nkilling, West Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Andi Chaeruddin said
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
\"Two other people, including a woman, who were found at the
\nhouse when our detectives arrived, are now under intensive
\ninterrogation,\" Chaeruddin said.<\/p>\n
\"We have already reached a preliminary conclusion about the
\nmotive, but it's not the right time to reveal it to the press, as
\neverything is still under investigation,\" said the officer.<\/p>\n
\"We need to find out why the suspect and the two witnesses
\nfailed to call the police immediately after the killing,\"
\nChaeruddin said.<\/p>\n
Based on a preliminary investigation, the killing is believed
\nto have occurred at around 8 p.m. on Monday, but was only
\nreported to the Kebon Jeruk police station four hours later,
\nChaeruddin said.<\/p>\n
The victim -- identified as Ah Hwa, 24 -- was allegedly
\nslashed in the throat with a Japanese samurai sword by the
\nsuspect.<\/p>\n
His body and the sword were found inside the house.<\/p>\n
Reliable police sources said that the victim was a holder of a
\nHong Kong passport.<\/p>\n
The source, who requested anonymity, said that the slaying has
\na business motive and was plotted and committed by more than one
\nperson.<\/p>\n
When asked for confirmation, Chaeruddin refused to explain,
\nsaying that the police are still investigating his background,
\nincluding his business here.<\/p>\n
Police investigators, he said, have faced some difficulties in
\nquestioning the three people, including the suspect, who claimed
\nhe was unable to speak Bahasa Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\"The suspect continued to keep silent while the other two gave
\ndifferent statements,\" he said.<\/p>\n
In the beginning of questioning, for instance, the two claimed
\nthey were a married couple. \"But later, they said they were not,\"
\nexplained the officer.<\/p>\n
\"Today, we learned that all of them, including the victim,
\nhave no family relationship,\" said Chaeruddin. (bsr)<\/p>",
