The lack of professionalism that has muddled up the management
\nof haj pilgrimage affairs is undeniable. In fact, only one
\njourney to the Holy Land, as one of the five religious
\nobligations for Muslims, is required in a lifetime.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a lot of Muslims perform their haj pilgrimage duty
\nmore than once and the annual quota for haj hopefuls is filled.
\nIt would therefore be wise for the government to issue a
\nregulation restricting haj pilgrimage journeys to only once per
\nMuslim per lifetime, a just principle under Islam.<\/p>\n
Muslims who have performed their pilgrimage duty and wish to
\nmake another visit to the Holy Land should follow umroh (minor
\nhaj pilgrimage) so that they will not cause difficulties with the
\nexisting annual haj quota.<\/p>\n
In such a way, wider haj pilgrimage opportunities will be
\nenjoyed by those who have never carried out this obligation,
\nwhile haj funds that would otherwise be spent can serve as
\ndonations for the poor, with their extensive multiplier effect
\nand relief of foreign exchange pressure.<\/p>\n
