US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has requested more than $200\nbillion, or Rp 3.3 quadrillion, from Congress to fund the Iran war.\nHegseth stated that the additional funding is for the sustainability of\nthe war in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the $200 billion, I think that figure could change.\nClearly, money is needed to kill the bad guys,\u201d said Hegseth, quoted\nfrom detikNews on Friday (20\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will return to Congress and the officials there to ensure that we\nobtain adequate funding for what has been done, and for what we may have\nto do in the future,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Hegseth said there is no timeframe for ending the US-Israel war\nagainst Iran. He stated that the decision on ending the war is in the\nhands of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not want to set a definite timeframe,\u201d said Hegseth.<\/p>\n
\u201cUltimately, there will be a choice by the President, where we say,\n\u2018Hey, we have achieved what needs to be achieved,\u2019\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
A high-ranking US military officer, General Dan Caine, who spoke\nalongside Hegseth, detailed the weapons used against Iran and its allied\nforces. Caine said that A-10 Warthog aircraft are hunting and destroying\nfast attack boats in the waterway route of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
The A-10 Warthog is a type of aircraft designed to provide close air\nsupport. It is known that the Strait of Hormuz has been effectively\nclosed by Iran to maritime traffic following the start of the war.<\/p>\n
Caine also said that AH-64 Apache helicopters are being used in Iraq\nto target militia groups allied with Iran there.
