Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s National Zakat Agency (Baznas) has\nopened its 2026 Madrasah Learning Support Programme for 700 private\nIslamic primary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta, or MIS) and private\nIslamic junior secondary schools (Madrasah Tsanawiyah Swasta, or\nMTsS).<\/p>\n
Baznas deputy chairman Zainut Tauhid Sa\u2019adi said the initiative\nimplements Baznas\u2019 Asta Strata 2026\u20132031 framework, which aims to use\nzakat funds as a strategic instrument to build a suitable education\necosystem for pupils from poor and vulnerable families.<\/p>\n
Idy Muzayyad, head of distribution, utilisation and empowerment at\nBaznas, said the programme is aligned with the objectives of maqashid\nsyariah: protecting the intellect (hifz al-\u2019aql) by ensuring continued\naccess to education, and protecting life (hifz al-nafs) by providing\nsafe learning spaces.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the national level, through this programme, Baznas is also\nsupporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education and\nPresident of the Republic of Indonesia\u2019s Asta Cita agenda for human\nresource development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The programme builds on Baznas\u2019 previous support for 2,000 madrasahs\nduring 2024\u20132025, across 37 provinces and 388 regencies and\nmunicipalities. That assistance included 409 madrasahs in areas\nprioritised for addressing extreme poverty.<\/p>\n
Under the programme, Baznas will provide Rp25 million to each\nmadrasah, using funds from zakat, infak and sedekah (ZIS).<\/p>\n
