\nNov. 12: How safe for your brain is your cell phone?), mobile
\nphones are designed, built and tested to comply with strict
\nscience based guidelines which are recognized by international
\nhealth agencies around the world as providing ample protection
\nfor users.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, based on comprehensive reviews of the available
\nresearch, the world's leading health authorities agree there is
\nno substantiated scientific evidence of health effects from
\nmobile phones that comply with strict international safety
\nguidelines.<\/p>\n
Recent expert assessment confirming the scientific consensus
\non mobile phone safety include the World Health Organization
\n(2000), a specially formed expert group of eminent scientists in
\nthe UK (2000); and the governments of France (2001), Australia
\n(2001), Canada (1999) and Britain (1999).<\/p>\n
The WHO has responded to public concerns by initiating a large
\nscale multinational research project to further advance the
\nscience and by providing and recommending reliable and accurate
\ninformation to assist people to make informed choices in relation
\nto mobile technology and health. The industry actively supports
\nthis approach.<\/p>\n
The WHO has estimated that in excess of S100 million is being
\nspent on the various research projects that form part of its
\ncoordinated program. The Mobile Manufacturers Forum is using the
\nWHO research agenda as the framework for all the research we are
\ndoing. All of these research projects are managed independently
\nfrom the industry and most of it is funded in conjunction with
\nother government agencies.<\/p>\n
All mobile phones comply with stringent international safety
\nstandards, which apply to all people. The available scientific
\nevidence gives us reason to be confident in the safety of this
\ntechnology, which offers significant benefits in terms of
\nconvenience, personal security and safety.<\/p>\n
