Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, in his speech at the 81st\nSession of the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday (26\/9),\nstated that the conflict arising from US-Israel attacks on Iran\nthreatens regional security.<\/p>\n
He noted that the conflict also disrupts shipping and trade passing\nthrough this strategic route, impacting energy security, prices, and\nconfidence in the international system.<\/p>\n
Albusiguidi stated that Oman is committed to protecting navigation\nthrough the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law and\nthe United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).<\/p>\n
He invited all parties to cooperate with Muscat to ensure that\nshipping lanes through this strategic point remain open, while\nrespecting the interests of nations that depend on the route.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Minister also urged Tehran and Washington to resolve\nexisting disputes and seek a political understanding that could provide\na long-term way out of the crisis.<\/p>\n
Albusaidi expressed Oman\u2019s solidarity with neighbouring countries in\nthe steps they have taken to protect their security, sovereignty, and\nterritorial integrity.<\/p>\n
Regarding Yemen, he reaffirmed Oman\u2019s support for a political\nsolution that maintains the unity, stability, and territorial integrity\nof the nation.<\/p>\n
