        "content": "<p>The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has transferred the suspect\nand evidence in the alleged insurance crime case of PT Asuransi Jiwa\nProlife Indonesia (formerly PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses) to the\nSouth Jakarta District Prosecutor\u2019s Office on Wednesday (15\/6\/2026). The\nhandover follows the prosecutor\u2019s declaration that the case file was\ncomplete. In this case, investigators named Henry Surya, the controlling\nshareholder of PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife Indonesia, as a suspect. The\nsuspect transfer took place at the Class IIA Gunung Sindur Special\nPenitentiary in Bogor, as Henry was already detained for fraud and\nembezzlement related to the Indosurya Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP)\nbased on a court ruling. Meanwhile, the evidence handover was conducted\nat the South Jakarta District Prosecutor\u2019s Office. The case originated\nfrom an alleged insurance crime involving the deliberate disregard or\nfailure to execute a written order from the OJK, as stipulated in the\nletter from the Chief Executive of Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension\nFund Supervision Number S-45\/D.05\/2023 dated 13 October 2023. The letter\nordered the company to fulfil its obligation to pay compensation to\npolicyholders amounting to IDR 566.24 billion, based on the monthly\nfinancial report as of 30 September 2023. As a follow-up to its\nsupervisory actions, the OJK had previously revoked the business licence\nof PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses on 2 November 2023. During the\ninvestigation, the OJK also seized a number of assets as part of efforts\nto recover policyholder rights in accordance with the law, including 11\nplots of land and buildings in North Sumatra, Makassar, and Bogor, West\nJava, with an estimated value of IDR 20.9 billion; cash in the form of\ndeposits amounting to IDR 21.065 billion placed under another party\u2019s\nname; and shares in a company with an estimated value of around IDR 72\nbillion. The suspect is charged under Article 54 letter b of Law Number\n4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial\nSector and\/or Article 53 paragraph (1) of Law Number 21 of 2011\nconcerning the Financial Services Authority, which carries a maximum\npenalty of six years\u2019 imprisonment and a minimum fine of IDR 15 billion.\nIn handling this case, the OJK coordinated and cooperated with various\nlaw enforcement agencies and related institutions, including the\nIndonesian National Police, the Attorney General\u2019s Office, the Financial\nTransaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), and the Ministry of\nAgrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning\/National Land Agency (BPN).<\/p>",
