        "content": "<p>The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has closed 278 illegal\npawnshops through the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal\nFinancial Activities (Satgas Pasti). The crackdown on these illegal\npawnshops has been ongoing since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>OJK Executive Head of Supervision of Financial Service Provider\nConduct, Education, and Consumer Protection, Dicky Kartikoypend, stated\nthat the number of illegal companies continues to increase. \u201cAs of June\n2026, Satgas Pasti has identified and halted the operations of 278\nillegal pawnshops,\u201d he said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday\n(7\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In this enforcement action, OJK also coordinated with relevant\ninstitutions such as the police and all regional branch offices.\nNevertheless, this business remains difficult to eradicate because it\noften operates under camouflage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt OJK, we are certainly working together with all supervisors and\nlaw enforcement.
