        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is ensuring\nthat financial sector innovation can continue to grow within a safe and\nresponsible corridor in order to mitigate risks to consumers and\nsafeguard the stability of the financial sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, the development of innovation in the financial services\nsector must go hand in hand with strengthened governance, risk\nmanagement, and market integrity. And of course, for the purpose of\nconsumer protection,\u201d said Adi Budiarso, Executive Head of Financial\nSector Technology Innovation Supervision, Digital Financial Assets, and\nCrypto Assets at OJK, in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>At a press conference on the results of the August 2026 Monthly Board\nof Commissioners Meeting (RDKB), Adi said the principles used by OJK\nalso refer to globally accepted principles, namely same activities, same\nrisk, and same regulation in the financial sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that when an innovation carries out activities and poses\nrisks comparable to those of other financial sector activities, then\nprudential standards and consumer protection must also be applied on an\nequal basis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, OJK\u2019s approach going forward is focused on three\nagendas: deepening, to strengthen ecosystems that have already been\nformed; widening, to broaden the use of innovations already in\noperation; and safeguarding, to ensure consumer protection and risk\nmitigation can be carried out ever more robustly.<\/p>\n<p>For information, since the issuance of POJK Number 3 of 2024\nconcerning the Organisation of ITSK, OJK had received 351 consultation\nrequests from prospective sandbox participants as of 31 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>OJK has received 36 applications to become sandbox participants.\nThere are currently two sandbox participants, consisting of one operator\nwith a digital financial asset and crypto asset (AKD-AK) business model,\nand one market supporter currently undergoing the trial process.<\/p>\n<p>Under POJK Number 3 of 2024 concerning the Organisation of Financial\nSector Technology Innovation (ITSK), operators whose business models are\nthe same as the seven sandbox participants that have already graduated\nhave the right to register with OJK without going through sandbox\ndevelopment trials.<\/p>\n<p>As of August 2026, there are 24 ITSK operators officially registered\nwith OJK, comprising eight alternative credit rating agencies (PKA) and\n16 financial services aggregation operators (PAJK).<\/p>\n<p>During July 2026, ITSK operators registered with OJK successfully\nestablished 1,357 partnerships with financial services institutions\nacross various sectors, including banking, financing companies,\ninsurance, securities firms, online lending, microfinance institutions,\nand pawnshops, as well as with information technology service providers\nand data source providers.<\/p>",
