Officials refuse to give up govt cars<\/p>\n
PADANG, West Sumatra: The local administration said that four
\nofficials out of 28 who just retired or moved, have refused to
\nreturn their official cars.<\/p>\n
Antara reported that the officials should have returned their
\nofficial vehicles last month at the latest.<\/p>\n
In an attempt to get public attention over the matter, the
\nhead of city administration's general affairs office Yusman Kasim
\nidentified the officials on Sunday as former head of the City
\nRevenue Agency Saidani, former Governor's Assistant Hasan Basri,
\nformer Provincial Secretariat's Assistant on Social Welfare
\nHawari Siddik and former official in the Regional Planning Agency
\nBoard Badril Bakar.<\/p>\n
The cars were one Suzuki Escudo and three Toyota Kijangs.<\/p>\n
\"Up until now, those people haven't returned the cars,\" Yusman
\nclaimed.<\/p>\n
Yusman said that based on Governor instruction Nov. 15, the
\ncity administration has sent letters to those officials, asking
\nthem to return the cars by Nov. 25 at the latest.<\/p>\n
\"The cars are needed by their successors. We will seize it,
\naccompanied by law officers, if necessary,\" he warned. (hdn)<\/p>",
