Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Transportation (Menhub),\nDudy Purwagandhi, has confirmed that there will be no increase in the\nupper limit tariff (TBA) for air tickets at this time.<\/p>\n
Currently, he stated, the government is focused on maintaining public\npurchasing power to ensure continued access to public transportation,\nparticularly air travel, amid the surge in global avtur costs. This\nfollows geopolitical tensions in the Middle East stemming from the\nIsrael-US war against Iran, which has caused global economic volatility,\nespecially in world oil prices.<\/p>\n
Previously, airlines under INACA requested that the government raise\nthe fuel surcharge by 15% and the TBA by 15% for both jet and propeller\naircraft.<\/p>\n
Today, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto\nannounced that the fuel surcharge will be increased to an average of 38%\nfor both jet and propeller aircraft, up from the previous 10% and 25%,\ndue to the rise in avtur prices.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the government has eliminated import duties on aircraft\nspare parts to zero percent, to maintain the competitiveness of the\naircraft repair industry (MRO\/maintenance, repair, and operations or\noverhaul).<\/p>\n
\u201cAs I mentioned earlier, the determination of the fuel surcharge is\nbased on our agreement with the airlines. The airlines actually\nrequested an increase of up to around 50%,\u201d said Dudy during a press\nconference on Transportation and Fuel Policies at the Coordinating\nMinistry for the Economy\u2019s office on Monday (6\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cBut after we discussed and examined their respective cost positions,\nwe concluded that a 38% increase in fuel surcharge is an ideal figure.\nThis ensures that our aviation industry is not hit too drastically, and\npublic purchasing power can still afford it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Regarding the TBA increase, he further explained that it has been\nagreed to postpone it.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the TBA, one of the components is avtur and exchange\nrates, as well as maintenance costs. As mentioned earlier, the\nimplementation of import duties on spare parts is expected to reduce\ncosts for airlines in the medium term,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, regarding the TBA, we have agreed to postpone discussions on it.\nWhat we are doing first is adjusting ticket prices based on the avtur\nprice increase that is fluctuating in the global market. On one hand, we\nare safeguarding public purchasing power so that people can still access\npublic transportation, particularly air travel, at affordable prices,\u201d\nsaid Dudy.<\/p>\n
According to Pertamina\u2019s official website, official avtur prices have\nrisen at every domestic operating airport, applicable to both domestic\nand international flights, effective from 1 April 2026.<\/p>\n
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), the avtur price for domestic flights\nfrom 1-30 April 2026 is set at Rp23,551.08 per litre.
