Official arrested for illegal logging<\/p>\n
DONGGALA, Central Sulawesi: Ibrahim Drakel, a top official in the
\nDonggala forestry agency, has been detained since Saturday by
\nDonggala Police for allegedly issuing logging licenses in
\ncontravention of the prevailing national forestry legislation.<\/p>\n
Donggala Police chief, Adj. Sr. Comr. Henry Simanjuntak, said
\nthat Ibrahim, the head of the Donggala Forestry Agency, had been
\narrested after issuing a number of licenses permitting logging in
\na protected forest in the regency.<\/p>\n
Besides detaining Ibrahim, the police also arrested those
\ncarrying out the logging and confiscated 70 cubic meters of
\ntimber as evidence in the case. -- JP<\/p>",
