Astra Tol Cipali and police have introduced a situational open-close system for all rest areas along the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road during the Lebaran return traffic to ensure user comfort and prevent congestion. The policy applies to specific rest areas on both one-way and normal lanes, with drivers advised against stopping on shoulders or queuing on main lanes when areas are full, as toll fees remain unchanged based on distance travelled. Traffic data shows a 92% increase in vehicles heading to Jakarta, prompting safety reminders to maintain distances and follow officer instructions during traffic engineering.

Subang (ANTARA) - Astra Tol Cipali officers and police have begun
implementing a situational open-close system across all rest areas along
the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road during the Lebaran return flow
on Tuesday. Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications
Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in
Subang on Tuesday that the implementation of the open-close system for
all rest areas on the Cipali toll road aims to maintain the comfort of
road users in utilising rest facilities. He mentioned that the
situational open-close policy for rest areas on the Cipali toll road
applies to Rest Area KM 86, 102, 130, and 166 on the one-way lane, as
well as Rest Area KM 164, 130, 101, and 77 on the normal lane. He added
that if a rest area is closed due to being full, road users are advised
not to stop on the road shoulder or force themselves to queue on the
main lane before entering the rest area, as this could trigger traffic
slowdowns. “We guarantee that the total accumulated toll fee remains the
same (based on the kilometres travelled) even if road users exit and
enter toll gates to rest,” he said. Meanwhile, based on data from 00:00
WIB to 17:00 WIB on Tuesday, traffic flow on the one-way lane towards
Jakarta on the Cipali toll road has been observed to increase.
Approximately 74,000 vehicles have passed through the Cipali toll road
via the former Cikopo Toll Gate towards Jakarta, or about 92 percent
compared to the same period the previous day. Astra Tol Cipali urges all
road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between
vehicles, and comply with instructions from officers on the ground
during the traffic engineering period. To ensure collective safety, road
users are advised not to change lanes or use U-turns during the ongoing
one-way traffic engineering.
",
