S. Parman, Jl. K.S. Tubun and<br>\nthe Slipi intersection at Jl. Daan Mogot.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of dump trucks were deployed to load the remains of the<br>\npush carts.<\/p>\n<p>The vendors did not put up a fight as most were not present<br>\nafter having closed down their business due to the long Idul<br>\nFitri Holiday.<\/p>\n<p>One radio talk-show caller criticized the officers, saying<br>\nthey were &quot;cowards&quot; for destroying the push carts without any<br>\nknowledge by the owners.<\/p>\n<p>The caller also urged authorities to investigate allegations<br>\nthat most vendors had been made to pay city officials -- for what<br>\nthey thought was the legal right to work there.<\/p>\n<p>Street vendor evictions were also conducted by the Central<br>\nJakarta municipality public order officers in the Senen Market<br>\narea.
