Oasis wins platinum award<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Oasis restaurant, the Forum Shark's Fin and
\nSeafood restaurant and Singapore Ping restaurant won the
\nplatinum, gold and silver awards during the just completed first
\nJakarta Food Festival.<\/p>\n
Fauzi Bowo, head of the City Tourism Office announced at the
\nfestival's closing ceremony that the three restaurants won the
\nawards for their food, service and the meeting of overall
\nrequirements.<\/p>\n
He said the winners were chosen by their own patrons who
\nfilled out voting forms stating their opinions about the
\nrestaurants.<\/p>\n
The festival, the first ever held in this country, was
\nparticipated in by 39 restaurants in Jakarta, which offers
\nvarious cuisines, ranging from Indonesian to Italian. It was
\norganized by the City Tourism Office, the Indonesian Tourism
\npromotion Board and American Express Travel Related Service.<\/p>\n
Fauzi said the festival was held in a bid to make Jakarta a
\nmore competitive city for doing business. \"Eating is always
\nimportant for business people coming to Jakarta for their
\naffairs. Therefore our restaurants have to be able to offer them
\nnot only good and healthy food, but also good service and good
\nambience. The festival was aimed at upgrading service as well.\"<\/p>\n
