NZ holds speech competition<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The New Zealand Trade Development Board held an
\nEnglish language speech competition, involving the participation
\nof 81 students here recently.<\/p>\n
The board said in its media release on Tuesday that 17
\ncontestants had been selected from of a total of 81 representing
\nnine colleges here.<\/p>\n
The topic of the speech competition was "Compare the lifestyle
\nof living in Jakarta, Indonesia, with Auckland, New Zealand."<\/p>\n
In their speeches, the contestants talked about the density of
\npopulation, pollution levels and traffic jams. A number of them
\nalso talked about the valuable lessons that can be learned from
\nthe diversity of people and cultures in both places.<\/p>\n
The winner of the competition was Siti Astrid Kusumawardhani
\nfrom SMU (senior high school) Islam Al-Izhar, second was Leonard
\nHart Tangguh from SMU Don Bosco and in third place was Tania
\nSurya from SMU Kristen 1.<\/p>\n
The first prize was a month's tuition in English language at
\nAcademic College English Group (ACE Group) in Auckland, including
\nairfares and accommodation. The second and third prizes were
\nthree month's English tuition at the newly established ACE in
