Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, has completely closed ferry
operations to Gilimanuk Port, Bali, for Nyepi Day 1948 Saka. Road access
to the port has been barricaded using water barriers to restrict vehicle
entry into the port area. Ticket counters are also closed. According to
detikJatim on Wednesday (18/3/2026), the parking area has been emptied,
with no passenger vehicles left behind. The last crossing took place
exactly at 5:00 PM WIB. “Specifically for the Ketapang area, from what I
see, those crossing to Gilimanuk did not exceed the 5:00 PM WIB deadline
much, whereas our counterparts from Gilimanuk crossing to Ketapang are
still queuing up to now. This will serve as material for us to
anticipate security during the return flow,” explained East Java Police
Chief Irjen Nanang Avianto. He explained that ASDP has made optimal
efforts to speed up the loading and unloading process on both sides of
the port. Nanang asked the public who are late and unable to cross to be
patient and wait in the prepared holding parking areas. “For those who
haven’t gotten a slot yet, apologies, they must rest here first. Because
we must respect our brothers’ rituals on Bali Island. Meanwhile, here,
we have accelerated with ASDP colleagues so that those now in Gilimanuk
can cross to Ketapang as soon as possible,” he said.
",
