Job opportunities for Indonesian nurses remain wide open, both\ndomestically and abroad. Universitas Binawan noted that 93 percent of\nits alumni secured employment within less than six months of graduating.\nSome have pursued careers in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United\nArab Emirates, Kuwait, Japan, and Austria.<\/p>\n
This data was shared during the university\u2019s 13th Graduation and\nOath-taking Ceremony for 318 graduates in Jakarta. More than 200 of the\ngraduates came from the International Nursing Undergraduate Programme\nand the Nursing Profession Programme.<\/p>\n
Universitas Binawan\u2019s Vice Rector for Governance, Resources, and\nStrategic Partnerships, Farouk Abdullah Alwyni, stated that the high\nemployment rate is due to the university\u2019s efforts to align its\ncurriculum with the needs of the job market. \u2018Universitas Binawan\nremains committed to providing education that is relevant to the needs\nof industry and society, so that graduates are well-equipped to face\nfuture challenges,\u2019 Farouk said.<\/p>\n
In addition to the high employment rate, 67 percent of the graduates\nachieved cum laude honours. Farouk noted that graduation is not merely\nthe end of a study period, but the beginning of graduates\u2019 service to\nsociety. He expressed hope that graduates would not only possess\nacademic competence but also integrity, sensitivity to social issues,\nmastery of scientific and technological developments, and the ability to\ncontribute to the advancement of the health sector.<\/p>\n
Acting Rector of Universitas Binawan, Prof Henny Suzana Mediani, said\nchanges in the world of work require graduates to continuously improve\ntheir competence and adapt to the times. \u2018We hope graduates will become\nindividuals who are adaptive, professional, and committed to lifelong\nlearning to face the increasingly rapid changes in the world,\u2019 she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Cris\nKuntadi, stated that technological transformation, digitalisation, and\nglobal economic dynamics have altered the needs of the job market.\nTherefore, university graduates are required to possess critical\nthinking skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuously\ndeveloping their competencies. \u2018The ability to adapt, think critically,\nand continuously develop competence is key to building a successful\ncareer and contributing to the nation,\u2019 Cris said.<\/p>\n
A representative from the Higher Education Service Institute Region\nIII, Aprie Wellandira Surhadi, assessed that higher education\ninstitutions play a strategic role in producing graduates who are not\nonly academically excellent but also possess character, creativity, and\nthe ability to adapt to the needs of society and the job market.<\/p>\n
Secretary of the Jakarta Regional Board of the Indonesian National\nNurses Association, Maryanto, reminded health sector graduates to always\nuphold professional ethics when providing services to the community.\n\u2018The health profession is not only about competence, but also about\nintegrity, empathy, and responsibility. Maintain the public\u2019s trust by\nproviding professional and ethical services,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
The high absorption rate of graduates indicates that the demand for\nnurses continues to rise.
