Nurses' permit<\/p>\n
With the development and advancement of sciences and the
\nimprovement of public education, it is deemed necessary that
\nevery profession has an organization to protect the interests of
\nits members.<\/p>\n
Nurses, for instance, whose profession is to render service to
\nthe people in the field of health, should have legal protection
\nin carrying out their job. So, through the parent organization --
\nthe Association of Indonesian National Nurses (PPNI) -- nurses
\n(of all levels) obtain a professional working permit (SIP) which
\nis issued by the provincial health service.<\/p>\n
In this context I would like to raise few remarks as follows.
\n* Why is it that the alumni of the Anesthesiology Academy are not
\nincluded in the category of nurses? In fact, according to the
\ndecree of the Association of Indonesian Anesthesiologists, they
\nare also members of PPNI.
\n* In the guide book for anesthesiologists published by the health
\nministry in 1997, it is stated that the alumni of the Academy are
\ncategorized as anesthetic nurses.
\n* However, I was informed that the nurse permit cannot be issued
\nto anesthetic alumni. In order to obtain a permit we (the alumni)
\nare required to submit a certificate obtained from Nursing School
\nand our anesthetic diplomas were returned to us.<\/p>\n
I graduated from the Anesthesiology Academy in Jakarta in
\n1986, and am a holder of the certificate of the academy.<\/p>\n
I appreciate clarification on this matter from the authorities
\nconcerned.<\/p>\n
