        "content": "<p>Nuke-free status discussed<\/p>\n<p>HANOI (Reuters): Senior Southeast Asian officials wrapped up<br>\non Saturday a three-day regional security meeting in Hanoi with<br>\ntalks on a protocol to make the region a nuclear-free zone.<\/p>\n<p>Officials from the Association of South East Asian Nations<br>\n(ASEAN) met on Saturday morning with diplomats from five nuclear-<br>\ncapable nations - China, France, Russia, Britain and the United<br>\nStates - to discuss the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>ASEAN has declared itself a nuclear weapons free zone.<\/p>\n<p>Delegations from the United States and North Korea left the<br>\ncountry on Saturday without a hoped-for meeting on the sidelines<br>\nof the forum to reopen dialogue between the superpower and the<br>\nStalinist country it calls a threat to world stability.<\/p>\n<p>The Hanoi talks were a preliminary meeting to set the agenda<br>\nfor the annual ASEAN Regional Forum to be held in the Vietnamese<br>\ncapital in July.<\/p>",
