It includes nuclear medicine's diagnostic tools and<br>\nirradiation treatments for cancer which have saved thousands of<br>\nlives, pest control and residue free sterilization techniques and<br>\nclean, non-polluting production of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Should we ban \"chemical technology\" because it was used by<br>\nAdolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein to murder innocent civilians? Or<br>\nbecause the Bhopal chemical accident in India killed and maimed<br>\nthousands of citizens?<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia's peaceful use of nuclear technology for the benefit<br>\nof its citizens is already well established, thanks to the<br>\nprograms of the National Atomic Energy Agency, which operates<br>\nseveral research reactors. Indonesia can choose from the world's<br>\nbest and safest technologies for its own nuclear power program.<\/p>\n<p>Nuclear technology is here to stay.
