Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 NU Care-LAZISNU has again distributed humanitarian\nassistance to nine districts affected by disasters across Sumatra and\nJava during the Ramadhan 1447 Hijriah period.<\/p>\n
The nine districts receiving aid include Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Singkil,\nBener Meriah, Aceh Utara, and Bireuen in Aceh; Tapanuli Selatan in North\nSumatra; Pasaman Barat in West Sumatra; and Tegal in Central Java.<\/p>\n
\u201cAssistance is provided so that communities can perform Ramadhan\nworship more comfortably, including during tarawih prayers,\u201d said NU\nCare-LAZISNU Executive Director Riri Khariroh in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
In several districts, aid distribution is combined with\nbreaking-of-fast activities and commemoration of Nuzulul Quran alongside\ncommunities still struggling to recover from floods, landslides, and\nground movements.<\/p>\n
The Solidarity Ramadhan programme distributes not only basic food\nsupplies but also essential items for affected communities. Beyond food\npackages and Ramadhan worship equipment, NU Care-LAZISNU also provides\nschool supplies for children including bags, notebooks, writing\ninstruments, and drawing books. Cash assistance is also given to orphans\nand the poor.<\/p>\n
To strengthen religious values, NU Care-LAZISNU deploys religious\nteachers to temporary mosques and prayer rooms. To support psychological\nrecovery of survivors, NU Peduli volunteers provide psychosocial support\nand trauma healing to residents in disaster areas.<\/p>\n
According to Riri, most disaster-affected communities in these\nregions are still living in deplorable conditions. Although floods,\nlandslides, and ground movements occurred several months ago, many\nresidents still live in evacuation tents or makeshift houses.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis situation deeply concerns us. Therefore, NU Peduli through NU\nCare-LAZISNU and other NU institutions are present to ensure communities\ncontinue receiving support, especially during Ramadhan,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Beyond basic necessities, NU Peduli also assists in constructing\nemergency facilities for communities, including temporary mosques,\nprayer rooms, Islamic schools, and sanitation facilities. Clean water\nprovision is also a focus of the programme.<\/p>\n
NU Care-LAZISNU Programme Director Syarifuddin stated the\norganisation distributed 15 trucks of clean water to five villages in\nBireuen District, Aceh, with primary distribution points at Pante Lhong\nVillage, Peusangan District, Bireuen.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are present in Pante Lhong to ensure donors\u2019 contributions reach\nthe right hands. This assistance is a collaborative programme between NU\nCare-LAZISNU and Shopee Barokah,\u201d said Syarifuddin.<\/p>\n
According to him, clean water distribution was selected following\nfield assessments of urgent needs, as many residents struggle to access\nsafe drinking water.<\/p>\n
He hopes synergies with various parties can continue to expand to\nbroaden the reach of humanitarian assistance.<\/p>\n
