        "content": "<p>Singapore (ANTARA) \u2013 Singapore\u2019s Nanyang Technological University\n(NTU) is partnering with Swedish telecommunications and networking\ncompany Ericsson and Sweden\u2019s KTH Royal Institute of Technology to\ndevelop positioning technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) and\nsixth-generation (6G) communications networks.<\/p>\n<p>The research aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of location\ntracking for robots, drones and other autonomous systems in complex\nindoor and outdoor environments, including areas where signals are\nobstructed, according to an NTU statement on Monday (19 October).<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, scheduled to begin in November 2026, will combine\nexisting positioning methods with AI and automated antenna calibration\nto improve location estimates.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the new technologies could support\napplications in sectors including healthcare, airports, ports,\nmanufacturing, logistics and smart cities, as well as emergency response\noperations.<\/p>",
