        "content": "<p>The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has reported that the\ndeath toll from the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has risen to\n75.<\/p>\n<p>This data is the latest update from BNPB as of Thursday (20\/8) at\n16.00 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYesterday we reported 71 fatalities. Today the figure has increased\nby four, with details of two additional deaths in Sikka Regency, one in\nManggarai Regency, and one in Nagekeo,\u201d said Berton SP Panjaitan, Acting\nHead of the BNPB Data, Information and Disaster Communication Centre,\nduring a BNPB press conference on Thursday (20\/8).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, BNPB has also recorded 907 injured victims. Compared\nwith previous data, there are nine additional injured victims from Ngada\nRegency.<\/p>\n<p>The number of displaced people has also increased in line with the\nhigh number of aftershocks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt present, we have recorded 92,735 people, up from the previous\nfigure of 59,647,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The largest increase in displaced people came from Nagekeo Regency,\nwith 21,883 people. This was followed by an increase of 9,649 people\nfrom Manggarai Regency and 1,556 people from West Manggarai Regency.<\/p>\n<p>BNPB also reported on the performance of the aid distribution\noperation managed by BNPB, namely the National Logistics Support Post at\nHalim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta. Aid from this post has been sent to Labuan\nBajo Airport and Maumere Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe total amount of aid distributed from 15 to 20 August 2026 is 729\ntonnes, sourced from the Ready-to-Use Fund (DSP), from BNPB, and from\ndonations,\u201d Berton revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The types of aid provided include food and non-food assistance. Food\naid includes basic food packages, ready-to-eat meals, medicines, and\ninstant noodles. Non-food aid includes tents, mats, blankets,\nmattresses, and generators.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday (15\/8), an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck NTT.\nThe NTT Provincial Government then declared an Earthquake Emergency\nResponse Status from 15 to 28 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As of Thursday (20\/8) at 16.00 WIB, the total number of aftershocks\nhad reached 3,752 events. Due to the continuing high number of\naftershocks, including some classified as large, the public is urged to\nremain vigilant and prepared.<\/p>",
