NTT Deputy Governor Johni Asadoma in Kupang on\nFriday stated that his side had received a report from the Timor-Leste\ndelegation regarding the alleged practice, which is deemed to\npotentially disrupt the good relations between Indonesia and\nTimor-Leste, particularly between NTT and Timor-Leste. \u201cDuring the\nmeeting with the RDTL delegation regarding NTT-Timor Leste cooperation\nin the tourism, trade, industry, agriculture, and livestock sectors, I\nreceived a report on that matter,\u201d he said. Based on the received\nreport, there are suspicions of rogue debt collectors illegally tailing\nand detaining Timor-Leste-origin vehicles using that country\u2019s number\nplates while in NTT territory. According to Johni, the situation is\ndisturbing and potentially disrupts the comfort as well as the good\nrelations between NTT and Timor-Leste communities, which have so far\nbeen established through cross-border cooperation and socio-economic\nties between the two regions.
